Launch Application

Office Quest Rheumatology is a 3-Dimensional, self-guided interactive journey of infusion practices, technological advances, and evidence-based treatment options and diagnostics. This activity is designed to unravel the complexities of developing and maintaining a full-service and state-of-the-art rheumatology practice. By convening a panel of expert rheumatologists, experienced at developing and implementing a comprehensive facility, this program will benefit overall patient care by assisting rheumatologists who are considering establishing a new full-service treatment center. In addition, those rheumatologists with a high level of experience in starting and maintaining a comparable treatment facility will benefit from a CME-accredited review of more recent technologic developments in this area including the latest trends and recommendations in evidence-based treatment options and diagnostics.

Statement of Need

Today´s rheumatologist is faced with many issues to consider when developing, implementing, and maintaining a full-service rheumatology treatment center replete with facilities for providing patients with diagnostic testing, treatments, and appropriate monitoring, all within a supervised setting. The appropriate utilization of staff, competency-training, and performance-improvement initiatives are also required to maintain the highest standard of care for patients. In addition, space anagement planning and access to advanced equipment, services, and technology may be viewed as potentially complex initiatives. These issues, however complex, are essential elements to ensuring an effective best-practice setting for patients. In addition, secondary tiers of service such as the identification and provision of patient education materials and coordination of healthcare benefits are also necessary components. Office Quest Rheumatology unravels the complexities of these services with a focus on new technologic advances in the treatment and diagnosis of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Learning Objectives

Following completion of the program, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the primary considerations for diagnostics in rheumatoid disease including resources, equipment, and interpretation of results
  2. Identify additional educational resources for professional staff and patients, and describe methods for their provision in an ancillary treatment environment
  3. Describe the role of inflammation and all of its associated components in rheumatoid disease, and the importance of obtaining early and rapid suppression for maximizing disease control
  4. Differentiate therapeutic options including switch therapy and early treatment as they relate to comorbid inflammatory conditions, and the ability to attain remission and arrest disease progression
